Educating Women and Girls in Sudan and South Sudan

Our Chair of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Suliman recently updated supporters on our ongoing programmes for Sudanese and South Sudanese women and girls. If you would like to have more detailed background to our work helping young Sudanese refugees in Cairo to pursue their schooling, our university and literacy projects in South Sudan and our continued support for our sponsored Sudanese undergraduates, then visit Women’s Education Partnership.

Below scenes from our successful South Sudanese health and education programmes.

Below left, Gune Christine, with our South Sudan director, Gale Emmanuel. Gune was our first sponsored student in the restart of our programmes in South Sudan four years ago. She completed her intern year at the Military Hospital in Juba, which also serves civilians, and graduated in September. Her goal is to return to Eastern Equatoria and work in public health. This year has seen 56 women currently sponsored by Women’s Education Partnership.

Below right, Ithar and Inas, refugees from Darfur studying in Juba, their tuition and laptops provided by WEP.

Above right, The Coles-Medlock Foundation, who have pledged, together with WEP supporters, to match your kind donations.

This year, your support is more vital than ever.
